![]() I had another birthday. The year went sailing past. I knew that it was coming, It just got here too fast And this year was a long one. It has that extra day. I hope you spent yours wisely And took some time to play. I got some birthday presents From kids and spouse and friends. It’s good that if I need them, I’ll have all my Depends. Read our entire issue and back issues. Click here. I got a Harley windshield, With bifocal built in, And hearing aids to turn down To help block out the din. Each of us looks differently Upon the year just spent. Our attitude is colored By how we feel it went. If we feel days were wasted On useless, vexing tasks, Like filling out the papers Government often asks, Then we can get the feeling That next year won’t be good. We won’t have the excitement That we most surely should. My grandkids are excited For next year two can drive. My mother is excited Because she’s still alive. And so with spring upon us, We should be feeling good. The yards are getting greener, There’s buds up on the wood. Farmers see God’s handiwork Up personal and real As we touch seed with our hands, The dirt we smell and feel. We get to drive our tractors And spread seed upon the land To help to feed the hungry If Nature lends a hand. So as you go out farming, Be careful working late.
