BAY CITY – Michigan Sugar Company has named Pedro L. Figueroa its Vice President of Sales. Pedro joins the Company after working for more than 25 years in various roles in international trade and domestic sugar sales. Most recently, Figueroa was Divisional Head, USA White Sugar for ED&F Man based in Miami, Florida. Prior to Man, he was a vice president with American Sugar Refining, Inc. Pedro and his wife, Jeanny, and their three children will be relocating to the Bay City area.
Upon joining the Company, Pedro will work alongside Jerry Coleman, Vice President of Marketing until Coleman’s retirement at the end of March. Coleman will be retiring after 42 years in the sugar business. After graduating from Marist College, Poughkeepsie, New York, Figueroa began his trading career with CSC Sugar. In 1999, he joined ED&F Man where he worked in a variety of roles. During his tenure with Man, Figueroa lived in New York, Mexico City, San Juan, and Miami. He is the immediate past president of the Sugar Club in New York City. “After over 40 years in the sugar business, we are sorry to see Jerry Coleman retire. We will miss his unwavering optimistic and positive attitude.
