The Western Sugar Cooperative Board of Directors announced in early April that Rodney Perry is the company’s new president and chief executive officer. Perry, who comes to Western Sugar from Bunge Limited, a global agribusiness and food company, was based in Geneva, Switzerland. He assumes his duties at Western Sugar beginning April 21.
Perry has more than 24 years of agribusiness and food experience. Most recently, he held the position as vice president for Food and Ingredients in Europe, the Middle East and Africa for Bunge. Perry joined Bunge in 2000 as sales and marketing manager, then moved on to lead the company’s North American Milling, Edible Oils, and Canadian Oilseed businesses before moving to Europe. His appointment as Western Sugar CEO followed a four month search by the cooperative’s board.
