The 31st International Sweetener Symposium, hosted by the American Sugar Alliance, is scheduled for August 1-6 at the beautiful Stowe Mountain Lodge in the charming New England town of Stowe, Vt.
“The complex and critical issues the industry is currently facing will be explored in-depth,” notes the ASA its meeting announcement. “Will the U.S.- Mexico sweetener market survive suffocating surpluses? Will regional and global supplies continue to outpace demand?
What is the long-term outlook for the market? “Is there a light at the end of the tunnel? Will the continued pursuit of aggressive trade agendas yield new trade agreement(s), and how will world sugar policies and U.S. commodity programs be affected? What opportunities and challenges are emerging in the food manufacturing industry?”
The Symposium has sold out the last several years, ASA notes, so those planning to attend are encouraged to make their lodging reservations early to ensure their stay at the main resort.
